Stunning foliage emerges deep purple in mid to late spring and ages to dark olive green by late summer when it serves as the backdrop for huge, 6 to 8" diameter flowers of deep magenta red with a darker halo. Flowers are produced from the top to the bottom of the plant, rather than only at the top like some older cultivars creating an unforgettable mid to late summer color show. Deer resistant.
