The Balsam Fir is a dense, pyramidal conifer, commonly grown as Christmas trees due to its attractive fragrance and long needle retention. Flattened, shiny, dark green needles cluster the entirety of the shrubby tree. Makes an excellent specimen or ornamental yard tree.
Best grown in moist, slightly acidic, well-drained soils. Plant in full sun to part shade.
