Arching, leafy stems, about 3-8’ long, are donned with clusters of showy, bell-shaped, deep-pink flowers which comprise this shrubby, perennial, wildflower. Fruits in early September into fall and is more like a rounded capsule. Foliage transitions to shades of red and oranges in autumn. Ideal for bog gardens, streamside, or along ponds.
Easily grown in wet soils such as along marshes or bogs and mucky banks of ponds bodies of water; can tolerate standing water. Thrives in shaded areas. This plant can spread rapidly.
