Capitata has a strong pyramidal form with dark green foliage. An excellent hedge or topiary evergreen with emerald green new growth in spring that contrasts well against the dark green needles. The female plants produce fruit that attracts birds. Tolerates shade and is considered to be one of the best of the needled evergreens for shady conditions.
