Big, beefy, ruffled, deep green leaves are borne on thick red stems that signature Rhubarb flavor. Unharvested plants form a large showy, spreading mound that are as attractive as its stems are tasty! A long time favorite treat for summertime baking, jams and jellies. Great for use with Strawberries in pies. Can be used in large perennial gardens to add great texture and structure.
Grow for two years before harvesting stems. Plant in loose and well-drained soils high in organic matter content. Apply mulch to keep roots cool in summertime heat. Remove flower stalks as they appear to keep all plant energy producing foliage
