Penstemon hirsutus

Hairy Beardtongue (northeastern beardtongue)

  • »  Attracts hummingbirds, pollinators
  • »  Drought tolerant

Compact & adaptable, this underused native will shine in your garden as wooly red stems are topped with open clusters of purple, tubular flowers in the early summer. Pollinators and hummingbirds love to visit this plant's bloom & it is the host plant Baltimore Checkerspots. Awesome red fall color.
