‘Onyx and Pearls’ is named for its striking combination of dark foliage and soft lavender flowers with white throats, which create an almost white appearance from a distance. Taller and fuller than ‘Blackbeard’, this variety offers a brighter floral display while maintaining dramatic contrast against its deep foliage. Like other penstemons, it is a durable, drought-tolerant perennial that thrives in full sun with minimal care and is seldom affected by pests or disease. Its nectar-rich blooms are a favorite of hummingbirds and provide long-lasting color throughout the growing season.
