Plant in full sun to part shade in average, well-drained soil. Feed in early spring with a low-nitrogen fertilizer, with a second light application about a month after bloom. Remove dead or damaged foliage and spent blooms as needed, and cut back foliage in fall to 6". Divide every 3-5 years.
