When I see this flower the only thing that comes to mind is lion mane! Although you won't find a blue Lion in New England you will find a fabulous 4-7" fully double, rich blue-purple clematis and blooms in May and June then repeats the show in September! A perfect complement to summer blooming perennials. Its compact form makes Diamantina™ a good double clematis for containers. Introduced by Raymond Evison at the 2010 Chelsey Flower Show and impressed visitors there with its unique coloration and fully double flowers, but its ability to free flower even thru the summer and each flower can last up to 4 weeks long! Diamantina™ is part of the RegalsĀ® collection, a collection of extremely doubled clematis breed by Raymond Evison. Class 2.
Best in part shade.
