This hardy succulent perennial showcases striking evergreen rosettes with rich, dark brown foliage. During summer, a robust flower stem sprouts from the heart of the central rosette, displaying a cluster of vibrant, star-shaped pink blooms. Each offset will establish its own roots and eventually detach from the parent plant as the connecting stolon dries up and disintegrates.

Performs best in full sun in sandy, extremely well-drained soil. Feed yearly with an organic fertilizer. Drought tolerant once established. Many 'Chicks' can be seen outside the main rosettes of foliage in late spring. These can be left untouched or removed and rooted in other parts of the landscape.
