More About DaytonI grew up in a small town in south central Connecticut. I currently live with my girlfriend Kristen and our cat Felix. Outside of work I enjoy being in nature, whether it’s running, hiking, fishing or gardening, I thrive on fresh air. I also enjoy listening to music and watching comedy. I have about five years of experience working with plants. I graduated with an Associate Degree in Horticulture in 2022. My first job in the industry was at an apple orchard. I also worked as a grower of annuals and perennials for four years. I am truly fortunate to be part of an industry that provides beauty to spaces and brings joy to people. I joined the team here at Prides Corner in the spring of 2024. I look forward to increasing my knowledge as well as helping to supply happiness in the form of exceptional looking plants.

Dayton's Favorite PlantMy favorite plant is Hibiscus SUMMERIFIC® 'Cookies & Cream'. I've always enjoyed hibiscus, they add a tropical feel to northern gardens and not to mention dinner plate sized flowers. The most striking feature of this plant is the stark contrast between the bright white blooms and the dark purple foliage. It provides interest in late spring with dark leaves and late summer when it becomes covered in huge blossoms. It is a multi-faceted plant with many uses.
